FAQ

Company data in Europe — frequently asked questions

InfobelPRO holds 83M companies across 47 markets in Europe, sourced from official business registries. 39 of those markets have a browsable directory today, covering 79.5M companies.
By reported revenue in our data, the largest corporate group headquartered in Europe is VOLKSWAGEN AG, based in Wolfsburg, Germany, in manufacture of motor vehicles.
France, with 14.4M companies in the database — the largest of the 47 markets we cover in Europe.
39 of 47: France, United Kingdom, Italy, Germany, Poland, Spain, Netherlands, Czech Republic, Belgium, Romania, Norway, Sweden and 27 more. The remaining 8 markets are held in the database and publish as their directories go live.
Registered name and address, national registration number, industry classification in NACE and SIC, company status and legal form, employee count, reported revenue where filed, and parent, subsidiary and group relationships. Contact fields are present where available.
The 39 published directories behind this page were rebuilt in September 2026. Each market is refreshed on its own registry cycle.
The ranking merges the largest companies by reported revenue from each published market, converts nothing (figures are already in USD), and keeps one row per corporate group: where a group files in more than one market, the highest reported figure is kept and the duplicates are dropped. 439 rows across Europe are excluded, on the source's own flags: revenue the source marked aberrant, a legal name it has not curated or withheld, a revenue-per-employee figure outside the plausible band, a record held for review, and local entities whose ultimate parent sits outside the market — a branch of a foreign bank is a real registry record but not a company of the region. Two more never reach a ranking: a public insurance or pension scheme, whose turnover is contributions passing through rather than trade, and a figure that cannot describe a trading business — revenue out of all proportion to the staff reported alongside it, or both enormous in absolute terms and out of scale with its own market, which is how a corrupt revenue shows itself when the source has not flagged it. Two country-level sections are deliberately absent at this scale: revenue bands, which each national file reports in local currency and which cannot be summed, and foreign ownership, whose country-of-ownership labels are not uniform across national files.
